A PRAYER FOR TRUE
LOVE ANSWERED
I was just sitting here recalling the days
When I would pray for a love that was true.
After heartbreak and pain – now there is joy,
For that prayer was answered -- God sent you.

A QUICK
GETAWAY
It's been a long week...
Let's get away
To sunny beaches along the shore.
Let's take a flight…we've earned that right
Consumed by this week – no more.

MY
BEST
I desire to give you my very best --
Even more, my love, but nothing less.
That means, at times, that I must rest
So that you can receive my very best.
You, my love, deserve the very best.
And if ever perhaps, I fail the test,
Don't rant or rave like a demon possessed.
Please be patient and await my very best.
You don't even have to make a request.
I'll always attempt to give you my best.
I'm writing this so you'll be impressed.
(Don't worry – that last line was just in jest!)
All the time and effort I invest
Is worth it all, ‘cause you're the best.
The matter can't be over-stressed.
I simply want to give you my very best.
So, when you gently lay upon my chest
And feel the comfort of a robin's nest.
While we're wholly together, yet half-dressed.
Remember, I'm trying to give you my best.

NOTHING IN
RETURN
Love gives - expecting nothing in return.
Love sows when there's no evidence of a harvest.
Love still invests when no dividends are earned --
Expecting nothing in return.
Love is give -- and give -- and give some more.
When the bucket is bottomless, love continues to pour.
Love pays – and love says "keep the change".
Now I know why it's been said that love is strange.

THESE
ROSES
What's the occasion? - you wonder.
Well, does the sun need an occasion to shine?
It simply chooses to bathe us in its rays.
Likewise, I don't need an occasion to shine upon you.
I'm sending you these roses just because it's today --
Another day to love you,
Another day to be captivated by you,
Another day to express my gratitude for all that you are.
