A WHOLE NEW YOU
FROM PENNILESS TO PURPOSE

Bad decisions, worse desires,
Spent all my resources putting out fires.
Credit issues found me all the time,
Lived fifteen cents away from a dime.
Hope and dreams were in short supply,
No sense dwelling on the reasons why.
Decided one day, enough was enough.
Heard a man speak of this 'purpose stuff'.
Now, life is viewed in a different light.
No, my status didn't change overnight.
But not even close to being poor,
Much richer now than ever before.

IT'S YOUR BUSINESS

Early morning, you would rise
Rush to a job you couldn't stand.
You'd heard all of the company lies
And seen very close friends get canned.

The higher up the corporate ladder,
The higher the level of your stress.
So was it worth it…did it matter?
This not-so-sweet smell of success.

So you decided to venture out,
Started a business of your own.
Now, when you wake up, you don't pout
And your self-esteem level has grown.

I'm proud of you for achieving.
For many years, you've made others rich.
Now fruits of your labor – you're receiving.
I'm so glad that you found your niche.

MY SPIRITUAL MAKEOVER

I'm new -
A former life left behind
It's true –
Free of chains that used to bind.
It's Christ –
He's in my heart to say.
Sacrificed –
What a price He had to pay.
It's His love –
There are no strings attached.
It's that love –
Undeserved and unmatched.
I appreciate –
Each rising of the sun.
I celebrate –
The makeover that He's done.

YOU'VE LOST THE WEIGHT

You've been so determined and focused,
Resisted extra portions on your plate.
Endured your share of stress and struggles --
Did it all for the sake of losing weight.

I've seen your sweat and I've heard your tears --
Been with you through ridicule and pain.
Diet – after diet – after diet,
Enough to drive anyone insane.

I'm writing to say that I'm proud of you
For achieving your weight-loss goal.
There are others I know you'll inspire
Who are trying --- with all their heart and soul.
